Jeremy Allen White won an Emmy Award over the weekend, but we didn’t get to hear his entire acceptance speech on TV.
The 33-year-old actor was bleeped out by network censors while accepting his award at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 15) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Jeremy won the prize for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on The Bear. This marks his second year in a row winning in the category!
A producer for the Emmys is explaining what happened and why Jeremy was bleeped.

“We don’t control the button, and we don’t hear it,” Dionne Harmon told Variety. “We’re on a delay so we see what happens. We don’t have a feed to the real show. We don’t have the button.”
The producers weren’t responsible for Jeremy being bleeped. It was actually NBC’s censorship team!
Jeremy said “Jesus Christ” at one point during his speech, which led the censors to bleep his words.
