Waffles recalled in multiple states due to plastic contamination
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Federal health officials say a Utah company is recalling thousands of boxes containing waffles as they may contain foreign objects.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an alert on Sept. 13 of a voluntary recall from Kodiak Cakes LLC, based out of Park City UT, for 7,300 boxes of its "Kodiak Protein-Packed Power Waffles, Buttermilk & Vanilla." The recall was initiated due to the presence of soft plastic film in the products.
The FDA said the company shipped these waffles to several states. These include Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The recalled waffles have UPC code '7 05599 01920 3' on their boxes, expire on Jan. 1, 2026 and come in 53.6 oz containers. The recall is designated at a "Class II" status, meaning the waffles may cause adverse health reactions in those who come into contact with them.
