One injured in shooting at New Iberia apartment complex, police say
NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- A shooting at City Heights Magnolia Place Apartments has left one person hospitalized, according to the New Iberia Police Department.
Police said officers were notified at around 5:30 p.m. of shots fired in the 1000 block of East Dale Street.
Capt. Leland Laseter, of the New Iberia Police Department, said responding officers found an unidentified male in the parking lot of the apartment complex who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Laseter said the victim is now in stable condition.
Laseter said New Iberia police are "working to try to put the pieces together and figure out who's responsible for this."
The shooting remains under investigation.
