Union minister V Somanna announced the potential merger of Konkan Railway with Indian Railway to enhance passenger services. He welcomed the Pune-Hubballi Vande Bharat train at Belagavi station and discussed extending the Bengaluru-Dharwad service to Belagavi. Plans for new railway lines and additional train services were also addressed.
