The West Bengal government has replaced Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal with Manoj Verma, following demands from protesting junior doctors. The protests began after the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Several other senior officials have also been removed in response to the protests.
