Over 3.5 pounds of cocaine seized in Dutchess County arrest

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State police reported that a Georgia man was arrested after a traffic stop near East Fishkill. Rayheim Drayton, 45, of Atlanta, is facing felony drug charges.

On September 4 around 1:50 p.m., troopers stopped a BMW X6 on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill for reportedly committing multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. While being interviewed by state police, the driver, identified as Drayton, was allegedly found to have about 3.7 pounds of cocaine within the car.

Drayton was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, class A and B felonies respectively. He was arraigned at the East Fishkill Town Court before being remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
