I've been thinking, once upon a time 11 players ran on to the pitch to play against 11 other players. Simple eh? Nowadays, we seem to be playing against not only the other 11, but certain referees, UEFA with their silly competitions, all the international breaks each month that stop/start our season and SKY who's scheduling of our games is nothing short of disgraceful. Friday night games for eg after internationals played on a Tuesday with players not due back until the Thursday. Not so simple a game now eh? I ask how has this happened, well, sheer greed I have to say.
