MTB Rising Stars Camp #2 – Copeland Forest

OC’s MTB Rising Stars Camp #2 took place on Saturday September 14th at the Copeland Forest.  The sold-out camp was led by Coach Roxy Slotegraaf and supported by Coaches Peter Glassford, Sue Haviland, and Malcolm Barton.
 
MTB Rising Stars camps are focused on developing athletes (ages 11-14) who are racing at the OCup level with aspirations to race at the Canada Cup and national level events within the next 1-2 years.  The camps also serve as an opportunity for athletes to gain exposure to Team Ontario programming and coaches, as well as building community within the provincial cycling community by allowing athletes and coaches from different clubs to train in a collaborative environment.  The twenty-four athletes that attended had a full day of riding while developing critical skills like technical climbing and descending technical trails with speed.
