Dolphins Make Move For QB After Tua Tagovailoa’s Concussion

Mike McDaniel last Thursday night said the Dolphins would "bring in someone" to aid the quarterback room after Tua Tagovailoa suffered another concussion.

Miami went through with that expected addition Monday, and no, it didn't convince Tom Brady to come out of retirement.

The Dolphins signed Tyler "Snoop" Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad, a move McDaniel confirmed Monday after a series of reports. The head coach also stressed Miami brought Huntley in to serve as Skylar Thompson's backup, not take over the starting signal-caller role in South Beach.

The Fins became the 26-year-old's third team since the turn of the new NFL year in March. Huntley signed with the Browns in the spring but was released by Cleveland in late August and returned to Baltimore, where he played the first four seasons of his career. The Utah product's Ravens tenure included a playoff start and a Pro Bowl nod in the 2022 season.

As for Miami's long-term future behind center, Tagaovailoa reportedly has "no plans" to retire following the third known concussion of his NFL career. But his timeline for a return to game action remains unknown.

The 1-1 Dolphins will visit the 2-0 Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
