Women's Health Wednesday: Ovarian Cancer Awareness
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. While there is no effective screening tool to detect ovarian cancer early, to improve the outcome, there are ways you can lower your risk.
There are also key, high risk factors women need to know.
Increased risks for Ovarian Cancer:
- Family history of ovarian, breast, uterine or colorectal cancer
- Genetic mutations like the BRCA gene
- Post menopausal women
- Increased age
