Saturday Night Takeaway spin-off hosted by celebrity couple ‘axed’ by ITV bosses before an episode even AIRS
A SATURDAY Night Takeaway series has been ‘axed’ by ITV even a single episode could even air.
Earlier this year Ant and Dec said goodbye to the beloved entertainment format after 20 years on screens.
While the show is being ‘rested’ a new spin-off was in the works behind-the-scenes.
A pilot for Ring My Bell was recorded with Chris and Rosie Ramsey at the helm.
However, website TVZone now report that the programme has been shelved by ITV execs.
A source added that while there’s no plans for a series in the immediate future, the project could be revisited.
The Sun has contacted ITV.
Ring My Bell saw audience members’ doorbells ‘hacked’ allowing producers to screen the footage live.
Games for the pilot saw the audience have to guess what happened next when shown a clip from a doorbell, while neighbours had to dash down their street to the house with the chosen doorbell.
Meanwhile, The Sun revealed earlier this year how Chris and Rosie’s comedy show had been shelved by the BBC.
The TV couple first debuted the beloved series back in 2022 when it was on BBC Two.
It sees the married stars invite another celebrity couple onto the sofa for a candid chinwag on their relationship.
Fans watched as Chris and Rosie, both 37, probed the stars on their pet peeves, parenting issues and bust-ups.
But due to the busy couple’s commitments, bosses have paused production.
