Sensex, Nifty updates on September 27, 2024: After trading firm in the morning session, Sensex and Nifty closed in red on Friday. BSE Sensex closed lower by 264.27 pts or 0.31% at 85,571.85, and Nifty 50 slipped 37.10 pts or 0.14% to 26,178.95. Major gainers on the Nifty50 were BPCL (6.84 per cent), Cipla (2.59 per cent), Sun Pharma (2.36 per cent), Hindalco (2.05 per cent) and Titan (1.98 per cent). The laggards were Power Grid (down 2.90 per cent), Bharti Airtel (2.44 per cent), L&T (1.65 per cent), HDFC Bank (1.30 per cent) and HeroMotoCorp (1.28 per cent). Deepak Jasani, Head of Retail Research at HDFC Securities, commented on the market outlook: “Nifty could now aim for 26,475 on the upside in the near term while the support has shifted up to the 25,956-26,033 band.”
