Heung-min Son injury update: Postecoglou on Spurs team news vs Man Utd
Tottenham Hotspur have had little time to shift their attention back to the Premier League where they will face Manchester United this weekend.
Spurs face Man Utd at Old Trafford on Sunday
Spurs beat Qarabag 3-0 in their Europa League opener last night despite being reduced to ten men following Radu Dragusin’s early red card.
Less than 24 hours later, Ange Postecoglou is back in front of the media at the club’s Hotspur Way training ground to speak about the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.
Goals from Brennan Johnson, Pape Matar Sarr and Dominic Solanke under the lights of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ensured that Tottenham go into the fixture on the back of three successive wins in all competitions.
Spurs injury update ahead of Manchester United – Son decision
Tottenham captain Heung-min Son was replaced in the second half yesterday having received treatment from one of the club’s physiotherapists and will face a late fitness test.
“It’s still early days from last night,” Postecoglou told the official Spurs site.
“Fair to say the boys that put in a shift are fairly tired.
“Apart from Sonny, everyone’s ok, but I don’t think it’s too bad [with Sonny]. He wants to train tomorrow so we’ll see how he goes at training and make a decision from there. We have another day up our sleeve to give him every chance.”
Richarlison and Wilson Odobert both remain sidelined with respective injury issues.
Both sides are desperate for a win
After an indifferent start to the season, Tottenham will be looking to improve on their current eleventh position in the Premier League table against a United side who have an identical record with seven points also to their name from the opening five matches.
Last season, Spurs played out a 2-2 draw with Man Utd in the same fixture back in January thanks to goals from Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur.
