Which Daughter-In-Law Of Mukesh Ambani Gave Rare Interview

Shloka Mehta was the Bahu, who opened up about her social welfare initiative ConnectFor in the rare interview. The interview was released this week. Shloka is married to billionaire Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita Ambani’s elder son Akash Ambani.

Antilia’s Cost

Mukesh Ambani’s family doesn’t just live in a lavish home. But their residence, Antilia, is a beacon of extreme affluence. Located on Altamount Road in the heart of South Mumbai, this stunning 27-floor giant, with an aesthetic blueprint reminiscent of the mythical island of Atlantis, delivers a majestic view of the city from 570 feet above the ground. With a worth of around 1 to 2 billion dollars, Antilia has carved a niche for itself not just in India but across the world.

The Story Of ConnectFor

ConnectFor, a project dedicated to corporate social responsibility, was initiated by the charitable arm of the Mehta family business – the Rosy Blue Foundation. Since its inauguration in 2015, this platform has been bridging the gap between volunteers and non-profit organizations.

During the interview, Mehta talked about the idea of ConnectFor clicked during a game of cards. According to shloka one of her friends was looking for a way to spend her time meaningfully before starting a corporate job. Her friend was returning to India after completing her college studies in the United States.

A buddy asked Shloka Mehta for some tips on dealing with the issues one could run across when trying to reach out to philanthropic groups. From her time at the Rosy Blue Foundation, Mehta noticed a pattern where the same several NGOs were always winning the grants. She found out that a CSR law was the reason behind the pattern as it demanded verifiable yearly reports that showed how effectively the funds were being used by the organizations.
“I felt there are so many talented people. If they can get connected to these nonprofits who don’t have the resources to hire someone to write reports or audit them, it would work out so well,” said Mehta.

A meaningful conversation with Maniti Shah soon concreate the idea after which they launch ConnectFor.
Shloka Mehta shared a compelling story about a phone conversation that had a huge impact on her, all thanks to ConnectFor.

“Every time we start getting jaded or like a little bit restless about what we’re doing, we hear of another story of transformation,” she said.

A Random Phone Call And An Inspiring Story

Mehta nostalgically shares a heartening episode that took place in the early days of ConnectFor, dating back five or six years ago. He and Shah used to personally attend to the calls they received. He recounted a particular dialogue with a lady, whom he notified about her successful registration and her upcoming association with a children’s shelter. Evidently, she had quite a bit of spare time on her hands and was excited about volunteering at the shelter, aiming for as much as thrice weekly visits.

Shloka stated that she did not think much about the initiative, started connecting the woman with the children’s shelter. After one year, she got an email from the woman.
“She wrote to us saying ‘I signed up to ConnectFor at a really low point in my life. My husband had just passed away. He had suffered from cancer for a really long time. I was really clueless about what to do to fill my time and fill my life. And now I get so much joy by being around these children’,” Mehta said.

The team at the nonprofit heaped praise on the lady in their heartfelt letter to Mehta. Mehta gushed, “Their appreciation filled me with a sense of achievement; after all, that’s exactly what we had been aiming for with ConnectFor.”

She pointed out that this wasn’t one of those big, famous nonprofit factions. On the contrary, they were a modest but dedicated initiative that catered to roughly 50 kids. Despite their size, she was deeply moved by the tremendous difference they had made in the lives of both the kids and the organization itself.
