Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is heading into the India vs Bangladesh 2024 2nd Test with a massive record under his belt. No other cricketer in the history of the game in the last 147 years has managed to achieve what the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) left-arm spinner has managed to do for India.
With his knock of 86 in the first innings of the India vs Bangladesh 2024 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last week, Jadeja now has 2,003 runs in winning Test matches for India. The Saurashtra all-rounder has also picked up 218 wickets in victorious causes for the country. It means that Jadeja is the first-ever cricketer in the world with 2,000-plus runs and 200-plus wickets in Test match wins.

No other cricketer has managed to come close to this mark. However, Jadeja’s teammate Ravichandran Ashwin needs another 57 runs to join him with this record. After scoring a match-winning 113 in the first innings of the first Test in Chennai, Ashwin has 1,943 runs in Test match wins while picking up a whopping 369 scalps. He will be the first-ever player with 2,000-plus runs and 300-plus wickets in Test match wins.
Jadeja is also just one wicket short of claiming 300 wickets in his Test career. The CSK all-rounder has claimed 299 wickets in 73 matches at an amazing average of 23.98 with 2 ten-wicket hauls and 13 five-wicket hauls to his name.
The Indian all-rounder will become only the third left-arm spinner ever to claim 300 wickets in Test cricket. Former Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath leads the pack with 433 wickets in his Test career while former New Zealand tweaker Daniel Vettori is the other in the 300-wicket club with 362 wickets to his name.
