Dame Maggie Smith, an multiple Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony winner, died at the age of 89, according to her sons Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens, per the Associated Press.

What a career she had, from a huge breakout in the 1960s that continued right through to the 21st century with iconic roles that made the British actress a legend on stage, screen and the small screen.
