Sandock Austral Shipyards (SAS) in Durban has signed a technology partnership agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and its Canadian subsidiary Vard Marine to construct the Afrika class offshore patrol vessel in South Africa. The partnership will focus on joint marketing initiatives to secure export orders from Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
