Piyush Goyal announced that the recent cut in gold import duties will make it easier for women to buy heavier mangalsutras. The duty reduction from 15% to 6% has boosted business significantly. Goyal also urged the Gold and Jewellery Export Promotion Council to promote Indian tourist destinations and support girls' education.
