Rubbish truck driver dies of accident injuries

The 41-year-old rubbish truck driver, who had been involved in a traffic accident on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, near Moni in Limassol, died of his injuries on Wednesday night.

Giorgos Philippou, from Limassol, had been intubated in critical condition at a private clinic in Nicosia.

The accident happened shortly after midnight on September 2, when the rubbish truck swerved onto the road divider, overturned and stopped on the dividing island a few metres further down.

Moni police are investigating.
