Wincanton’s Bellshill Drivers Get Pay Rise

Wincanton drivers based at Bellshill will get a 10% pay increase following negotiations between their union and the supply chain giant, writes Chris Tindall.

Unite said 30 HGV drivers on the Howdens contract delivering kitchens will benefit from the ‘inflation beating’ pay rise amounting to 10% over two years.

The first part of the deal will see a 7% increase being applied which will run from September until April 2025. A second increase of 3% will be applied from next April to April 2026.

Unite added that the deal represented its first pay negotiation since it secured union recognition with Wincanton at the site in November 2023 and it was backed by 100% of its membership.
