Boston Fans React To Jeremy Swayman’s New Bruins Contract

Bruins fans received a huge sigh of relief Sunday morning.

Supporters of the Black and Gold had been impatiently waiting for a resolution to Jeremy Swayman's contract situation ever since the goaltender entered the NHL offseason as a restricted free agent. Negotiations between Swayman and the franchise were dragged out through the preseason, but the sides ultimately signed a new deal two days before the Bruins' regular-season opener.

To no surprise, Boston fans were elated when the club announced an eight-year, $66 million deal for the 25-year-old.

With Swayman now under contract for years to come, the Bruins can put all of their focus on a 2024-25 season that figures to be very promising. Newcomer Joonas Korpisalo is expected to start in net for Boston on Tuesday night in Florida, but it's only a matter of time before Swayman retakes his spot as the team's No. 1 goaltender.
