Apple may launch new M4 Mac models and updated iPad Mini soon
Apple is set to launch several new M4 Mac models including a Mini around the end of October, with some expected as early as November, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
In his latest Power On newsletter, the veteran technology correspondent reported that Apple may release a new M4 version of its entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, alongside upgraded 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.
A rumored Mac Mini, around the size of an Apple TV, is expected to be available for purchase starting November 1 as well.
The new iPad Mini could receive an overall spec upgrade with minimal if any, physical changes. It is set for a potential release in early November, marking the first update to Apple’s smallest tablet since its 2021 redesign.
There are several possibilities being discussed for the iPad Mini, such as moving the front camera to the side for improved use in landscape orientation. In addition, there is speculation that the rear camera could be upgraded to a 48MP sensor, similar to the iPhone 16, instead of keeping the current 12MP version.
A refresh for the iPad 11 appears to be no longer planned for 2024. This reflects reports from other analysts indicating that this product wouldn’t be released until early next year. It may receive a more modern chip, as the tech giant would want to bring Apple Intelligence to as many devices as possible, and that would include the iPad.

What Apple products to expect in 2025
Looking ahead to the first half of 2025, Gurman detailed Apple’s hardware roadmap. The company is anticipated to launch M4-powered 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, a new iPhone SE featuring Apple Intelligence, refreshed 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models with new Magic Keyboards, and an updated AirTag.
Meanwhile, Mac power users may have to wait longer for high-end desktop updates. Although new Mac Studio and Mac Pro models with M4 chips are in development, Gurman believes they are scheduled for later releases. The Mac Studio is expected around mid-2025, followed by the Mac Pro toward the end of the year.
