City of Mississauga launches new website to help answer planning and development questions

The City of Mississauga is launching a new online guide to help simplify planning and development topics for residents.

Mississauga’s new online Guide to City Planning and Development is organized around topics such as how planning works and why it’s important, the City’s plans for growth, an overview of the development application process, help for residents to find information about proposed development and construction near them and ways to get involved.

It also helps connect residents to resources such as maps and data that city planners use to help guide their work. Housing is also top of mind for many Mississauga residents who have questions about how neighbourhoods are changing, housing affordability and the City’s role in delivering more housing.

The Guide provides an overview of the City’s housing targets, the City’s role and plans for delivering affordable housing and information about how development applications get approved.

“Mississauga is an incredibly dynamic city with new transit coming, waterfront revitalization underway and innovative businesses choosing to locate here. As we continue to grow – and work hard to get more housing built – it’s important that we keep our residents up-to-speed. We want to make sure they understand how we plan for new development and how they can get involved,” said Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish.

Education and providing open and transparent access to data is a primary goal in the City’s Housing Action Plan.
