South African regional and domestic airline Airlink on Monday confirmed that part of the terminal roof at Skukuza Airport had been damaged in a bush fire on Sunday. Skukuza Airport is at the world-renowned Kruger National Park, close to the park’s Skukuza main camp (which is also the location of the camp’s headquarters). During the fire, all passengers and staff were safely evacuated, and there were no casualties. Fighting the fire also caused some water damage. Clean-up and repair activities are already under way.
