FilmColumbia film festival to return this October

CHATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The FilmColumbia film festival will be at the Crandall Theatre in Chatham from October 18 to October 27. The festival is celebrating its 24th anniversary.

The festival will feature upcoming American, international, and animated features as well as documentaries and shorts. There will be local filmmakers and live Q&As with upstate residents featured in this year's festival.

Walton Goggins, a Columbia County resident, will be the festival's 2024 honoree. At the festival kick-off party on October 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. he will be celebrated at benefactor Jack Shear's home.

Films like William Goldenberg's "Unstoppable" featuring Jennifer Lopez and Tracie Laymon's "Bob Travino Likes It" starring Barbie Ferreira will be shown along with the short "The Book Signing" featuring Chatham native Scott Cohen. There will also be animated films like "Flow" from animator Gints Zilbalodis and "Memoir of a Snail" from animator Adam Elliot.

Those interested in purchasing tickets to the kick-off party can do so on the Crandall Theatre's website. Crandall Theatre member tickets and all-film passes went on sale on Saturday and all other FilmColumbia tickets go on general sale on October 12 at 9 a.m.
