WATCH: SA vs IRE 3rd ODI- Players leave field due to Fatigue in Abu Dhabi, coach JP Duminy comes to the rescue
In the hot and humid conditions of the Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, lot of South African players were seen struggling. Ottneil Baartman did not bowl his last two overs as he could not handle the heat. A few other players also struggled as well.
This resulted in their batting coach, Jean-Paul Duminy, putting on the jersey and take part in an international game after 5 years.
According to the rules, ‘if the players are injured on in this case, fatigued, coach or members of support staff can go to the field as substitute‘.
Duminy stepped on the field in the final overs of Ireland’s innings. He even went for a dive when Harry Tector pulled a reverse scoop towards third man. Duminy made a dive and stopped the ball with one of his hands.

Duminy has not been completely off from action even after taking up the coaching role. After playing his final T20 in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he played for South Africa Champions in the World Championship of Legends in July this year.
