Five-star jumbo wing Caleb Wilson visits North Carolina: ‘He would be a vital part of the team next year’

Five-star jumbo wing Caleb Wilson visited North Carolina on Saturday as he continues to wind down his recruitment.
“The visit was short and sweet,” his father Jerry told ZAGSBLOG. “We were there on Saturday only. That campus is just picturesque. We got to ask some tough questions of the coaches and players, then see them live in action at practice. It was impressive, and the pace and energy were thrilling. We received all the answers needed from the visit.
“The message is that Caleb is wanted and needed here, so come be a part of this special place. He would be a vital part of the team next year. Allow the next chapter of your story to be on the biggest and brightest stage in college basketball. In the words of Coach [Hubert] Davis, at this level, you’re deciding on good vs good. You just have to figure out what’s best for you. Coach believes UNC fits that role best for Caleb.”

The 6-foot-9 wing from Atlanta (GA) Holy Innocents Episcopal School and Nightrydas Elite also visited Kentucky, UCF and USC last month.
“We did go to UCF,” Jerry said. “It was really good as well. Coach JD [Johnny Dawkins] can really coach and he has a few things up his sleeve that might catch some teams unexpected this season. I really like his approach and the way he goes about his process. They really believe Caleb can put their program where it rightfully belongs amongst the nations’ best with the elements they can add around him.”
Wilson now lists a top 12 of Arkansas, Duke, North Carolina, Alabama, UCF, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Oregon, Ohio State and USC.
He broke down several of his top options for ZAGSBLOG here.
