Jared McCain Update - A Successful Pre-Season Debut With The 76ers
A better test comes Friday though.
Philadelphia started the preseason with a game against the New Zealand Breakers and while no one will confuse the Breakers with an NBA team, Jared McCain probably doesn’t mind.
The former Duke star did well in his 76ers debut as McCain finished with 15 points and shot 4-9 from behind the line. He hit 5-14 overall. At one point in the second quarter, McCain hit three straight threes.
Andre Drummond said this about his young teammate: “He’s a very good player. Very, very good player. I didn’t get to see much of him while he was at school, but being with him throughout all of September, and seeing him today in the NBA game, I mean, he’s ready. He’s ready right now.”
As noted, this wasn’t an NBA game but that will come soon: McCain will face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves and things will get very real very quickly: Minnesota features Anthony Edwards, Mike Conley, Rob Dillingham, Terrence Shannon Nickiel Alexander-Walker and Donte DiVicenzo, among others.
