Jim Parsons Explains Why He's Not Interested in Making a 'Big Bang Theory' Reboot Yet

0

Jim Parsons is opening up about the possibility of returning to The Big Bang Theory universe.

The 51-year-old Emmy-winning actor starred as Dr. Sheldon Cooper in all 12 seasons of the CBS sitcom, which ran from 2007 to 2019, and then narrated all seven seasons of the spinoff series Young Sheldon. In the series finale, Jim briefly made a cameo reprising his role as Sheldon.

While appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? on Friday (October 11), Jim explained why he isn’t interested in doing a Big Bang Theory reboot or reunion just yet.

Keep reading to find out more…“As we sit here now, no,” Jim started, via EW. “But also I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much. One of the things is that it was so special as what it was and what it is. And they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason, and you can be certain it wouldn’t be that. And so why would we be doing it?”

“I don’t know, that’s that’s how I feel on that right now,” he added. “But like I say, God willing, life is very long.”

Jim reflected on the show, calling it “the most insane, fortunate blessing that I could have ever asked for.”

He also said that he’s not upset that many fans may always see him as Sheldon, explaining, “I feel pretty strongly that it’s almost, if not totally, 100 percent blessing at this point. I know that I wouldn’t have said that 10 years ago.”

If you missed it, another Big Bang Theory spinoff series is in the works with 3 of the original stars returning!
