Limassol drug squad seize six kilos cannabis, cocaine

Police seized cannabis and cocaine from two suspects, aged 47 and 41, in Limassol over the weekend.

According to the police, officers from the drugs squad stopped a car at 6.30pm on Sunday driven by a 41-year-old woman with a 47-year-old male passenger.

In the search which followed police found 2.18 kilos of cannabis and 105 grams of cocaine, which were confiscated. The sum of €1165 in cash and three mobile phones were also found in the possession of the 47-year-old and confiscated.

In a search of an open area where the 47-year-old had been previously seen, police also found a bag with 1.9 kilos of cannabis and 1.9 kilos of cocaine, in a bush.

Arrest warrants were secured against the pair and they were arrested and taken into custody.

The Limassol drug squad (Ykan) is furthering the investigations.
