Strictly’s Sara Davies reveals her weight loss secret as she drops three dress sizes

SARA Davies has revealed the secret behind her weight loss after she wowed fans who spotted her in the Strictly Come Dancing audience on Saturday night.

Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Sara tells The Sun she has ditched her Spanx after dropping from a size 16 to a size 12 thanks to a “fibre first diet”.

Sara is being coached by health and wellness specialist Steve Bennett and has been following his technique.

She says: “I now begin each meal with fibre-rich foods, like broccoli or a side salad.

“By doing this, I create a ‘plug’ in my stomach, which helps regulate my appetite and promotes better digestion.

“It has made a significant difference to how I feel and how I manage my diet.”

Since adopting the fibre diet, Sara says she has transformed her lifestyle and her body.

She celebrated her 40th birthday in April by reaching her fitness goals and explains: “I wanted to be the fittest I’d been since I was 30.

“I’ve spent half my life sucking myself into Spanx, and now it’s bloody lovely to put on a dress and not have two pairs on underneath.”

Reflecting on her motivation for her lifestyle shift, Sara adds, “I had to size up in all my clothes, and I was mortified.

“It was the biggest size I’d ever been wearing, and it really got to me. That’s when I knew something had to change.”

The innovative diet, Sara believes, has changed her eating habits and helped her regain confidence in her body.

Under Steve’s guidance, Sara fully embraced the Fibre First method, incorporating fibre as a priority in every meal. She also starts her mornings with Slimshotz, a fibre drink to ensure she’s getting a fibre boost at the start of her day.

She adds: “I’ve learned how essential it is to eat fibre before anything else.”

In addition to her morning routine, Sara has swapped traditional pasta and noodles for Fibrehydate pasta and noodles as part of her clean eating plan.

She explains: “This approach doesn’t feel restrictive. By making fibre the focus, I’m able to live a healthier lifestyle without feeling like I’m missing out.

“The fact is, I’ve learned why fibre is important in my diet. I always knew fibre was good for you, but I thought it was just, ‘Oh, have a bowl of All-Bran.’ I never really considered how fibre impacts different foods or why I needed it in my diet.

“I’ve learned a lot about which foods contain fibre and how to incorporate them into my meals. Now, I prioritise fibre in my diet by simply eating it first, before anything else. For example, I’ve changed the order in which I eat my meals. If I have a plate with broccoli on it,

“I’ll eat the broccoli—the fibre—first, rather than eating it alongside the rest of the meal. When I go out for a meal, I’ve stopped eating the bread beforehand and now have a side salad first instead, once again introducing fibre first into my diet.

“The more I learn, the better decisions and choices I can make in my day-to-day life.”

Steve praised Sara’s commitment to the plan.

He tells The Sun: “Sara’s transformation demonstrates the power of prioritising fibre. By following my Fibre First method and putting fibre first in every meal, she’s achieved significant health improvements without resorting to extreme diets.”

Steve, who on more than one occasion has created £100 million companies and has twice been awarded the accolade of leading the Sunday Times Fastest Growing Companies, is author of his best selling The Fibre First Diet. The book reveals how reordering your favourite foods effortlessly trims your waistline and wards off disease.

He has offered his help for free to work on government reforms to save the NHS and improve the nation’s health with a series of initiatives including targeting ultra processed food consumption.
