Moment McDonald’s worker mistakes ex-President Bill Clinton for Joe Biden
A McDonald’s employee confused Bill Clinton with President Joe Biden as the ex-president stopped by to campaign for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
The 42nd US president stopped by a McDonald’s in the swing state of Georgia on Sunday night.
Wearing a red, white and blue jacket with ‘USA’ embroidery on the back and jeans, Clinton approached the counter.
A worker for the fast food restaurant stared at him in shock and said, ‘You Joe? Mr Joe?’
She then shook his hand.
Clinton, 78, appeared to reply, ‘I’m Bill.’
She then got excited and said, ‘Bill? Oh I got to hug you,’ then dashed around the counter and embraced him.
The two posed for photos taken by other McDonald’s employees from the kitchen.
‘This is Bill, y’all!’ the woman exclaimed, and rubbed his back as he had his arm around her shoulder.
All the workers laughed.
Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, captioned his video on X (formerly Twitter): ‘The boss was stumping for @KamalaHarris in Georgia and had to stop by the old stomping grounds, @McDonalds.’

About an hour later, the Kamala’s Wins X account also shared the clip and wrote, ‘It’s all hands on deck in the last couple of weeks. Retweet to make sure all Americans see this incredible moment.’
Clinton, who is three years younger than Biden, famously visited a McDonald’s restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1993, after going on a jog.
McDonald’s has been mixed into political talk as Harris has repeatedly said she had a summer job with the chain while a student in the 1980s. Her 2024 election opponent, former President Donald Trump, has accused her of lying on the matter.
The chain has a long been popular across the US and even adapted to fit in when necessary. Also in 1993, McDonald’s installed its famous arches logo on a store that were blue-colored instead of the signature golden hue, in order to comply with the Sedona city government’s request that it blend into the natural landscape.
With just a few weeks until the presidential election, Clinton’s wife, Hillary, and former President Barack Obama are also actively vouching for Harris.
