Australia urges citizens to leave Israel amid rising tensions
Following escalating conflicts in the Middle East, Australia’s Foreign Ministry has advised its citizens to leave Israel on available commercial flights.
On Monday, October 13, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong posted a warning on X/Twitter, urging citizens not to travel to Israel.
She expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Israel and the “Occupied Palestinian Territories.”
Australia’s Foreign Ministry warned of a “high threat” of military and terrorist attacks against Israel and its interests in the region.
Several airlines have either suspended or reduced their flights to and from Israel.
Meanwhile, Israeli attacks on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon continue.
According to the Lebanese government, around 1.2 million people have been displaced due to intensified Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
Previously, the Australian government had also urged its citizens to leave Lebanon.
The escalating violence in the Middle East has caused widespread displacement and prompted countries like Australia to take precautionary measures for the safety of their citizens. With the situation worsening, international travel advisories are becoming more urgent.
The ongoing conflict not only poses immediate threats to civilians in the region but also affects global security dynamics, prompting governments and international bodies to monitor the situation closely and respond accordingly.
