16-year-old seriously injured in Jefferson Co. crash
JEFFERSON COUNTY (KSNT) - A 16-year-old girl was seriously injured after a crash sent her vaulting over K-16 in Jefferson County on Sunday.
At 1:45 p.m., the 16-year-old was driving a 2003 Mazda Tribute north on Wellman Road south of K-16. The driver left the road and vaulted over K-16 and overturned in a ditch, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) crash log.
The 16-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. According to the KHP, she wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
