LSU gets $250K fine after football fans storm field after win against Ole Miss

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Louisiana State University was fined $250,000 after fans stormed the field Saturday after the Tigers' win against Ole Miss, the Southeastern Conference announced Sunday.
According to the SEC, fines for competition area policy violations range from $100,000 for a first offense, $250,000 for a second offense and $500,000 for a third and subsequent offenses. The policy was revised in 2023 to improve safety.
The Tigers won against Ole Miss in overtime, 29-26. After the win, LSU now ranks No. 8 in the AP Top 25 College Football Poll.
According to LSU Athletics, the sold-out game had 102,212 fans.
LSU is set to play against the Arkansas Razorbacks at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in the Battle for the Boot.
