Recruiting Bonus - Cameron Boozer’s NIL Valuation Shot Up After Committing To Duke
It’s a brand new world
NIL is a fact of life now and there are multiple services that estimate the potential income for players.
By one measure - On3.com - Cameron Boozer’s NIL worth is $1.6 million, up from $607,000 before committing to the Blue Devils.
That’s an impressive testament to the brand and it will resonate with other players too. Clearly, NIL is important to young players. Why wouldn’t it be?
But it’s not the only thing that matters.
Boozer gained a lot from the presumed bump in his NIL potential of course, but the brand is going to be worth a lot more to him, and possibly twin brother Cayden too.
Being a Blue Devil guarantees a certain exposure, a certain consumer awareness. When it comes time to negotiate a major shoe contract, well, look at Zion Williamson, Jayson Tatum and Paolo Banchero. They’re all with Nike’s Jordan Brand.
Clearly Boozer made (or will) make bank after committing to Duke. The real money though will come later, assuming of course that he lives up to expectations.
