Albany man pleads not guilty to attempted murder
MENANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the Albany County District Attorney's Office, an Albany man pleaded not guilty in an attempted murder indictment. Zacceus Cancer, 24, faces six charges.
Charges
- Second-degree attempted murder
- Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- First-degree attempted assault
- Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
The DA's Office says the indictment alleges that on or around September 7 Cancer had and used a loaded, operable illegal gun to try and cause someone's death. It also alleges that on October 8 the defendant had an illegal, loaded, and working gun as well as cocaine with intent to sell.
Cancer will appear in court again on November 22 at 11 a.m.
