IND vs NZ 1st Test Day 3: India hangs tight as New Zealand posts 402 runs with 356-run lead

0

New Zealand cricket team took complete control of the game on the 3rd Day of the 1st test against India in Bengaluru. After bowling India out on a mere score of 46 in the first innings, the Kiwis posted a total of 402 on the board. Rachin Ravindra was the star of their innings as he made a century, along with Tim Southee who scored a half century to help in posting such a massive total.

Day 3 started for New Zealand with Rachin Ravindra at 22. He quickly turned that number into a big and crucial one. India surely managed to get some quick wickets, but a partnership of 137 runs by Rachin and Southee was more than enough to shake the Indian side.

This partnership was more than enough to put New Zealand in a great position, helping them take a massive lead over India. Southee got dismissed after scoring 65 off 73 balls and Rachin was the final wicket lost by the visitors. With his century, Rachin has now become the first New Zealander in 12 years to have scored a Test century against India.

The New Zealanders have now taken a massive 356 run lead, and will be aiming to keep the Indian team under it to win this match by an innings. On the other hand, India not only have the target to break this lead, but will also have to post something near 500 runs on the board to get a chance to make a comeback in this match.
