2 injured after train-vehicle crash in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Police are responding to a crash between a Union Pacific train and a vehicle in Round Rock.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. Sunday near McNeil Road and County Road 172, according to the Round Rock Police Department.
Union Pacific said its train hit a vehicle on the tracks at the crossing. The two people inside the car were taken to the hospital. No crew members were hurt in the crash.
A spokesperson said Union Pacific is working with local authorities to understand why the vehicle was on the train tracks.
The intersection at McNeil and CR 172 reopened around 11:15 a.m.
