Patriots Defender Throws Shade At Aaron Rodgers After Beating Jets
FOXBORO, Mass. — Davon Godchaux saw a different Aaron Rodgers when the New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
The Patriots defensive lineman saw the 40-year-old Rodgers struggle to move and make plays outside of the pocket as he so often did during his 20 seasons in the league. And Godchaux wasn’t afraid to say it.
“Yeah, l think he’s struggling right now,” Godchaux said after New England’s 25-22 victory. “Just a Hall of Fame quarterback like that, hate to see him go out that way. But always going to take a win against him, put it on your resume. But yeah, he definitely don’t look the same. He doesn’t look like he can move back there. I could run him down and catch him. He don’t look mobile at all.”

That’s not to say Godchaux was complaining, of course. He acknowledged how it helped the Patriots avoid one more weapon on a Jets offense filled with them.
“So, it was good for us,” Godchaux said. “We know we could get after him and attack him in the passing game. Glad we could come out of here with the win.”
Rodgers completed 17 of his 28 passes for 233 yards with two touchdowns and took one sack. He didn’t register a single rush in the contest, which marks only the 24th time Rodgers hadn’t registered a rush in 239 career games.
