Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2024 2nd Test Live Streaming: When and where to watch BAN vs SA 2nd Test LIVE in India online and on TV
Bangladesh will look to bounce back after their seven-wicket loss in the first Test against South Africa in Dhaka last week by winning the second Test stating at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday (October 29) and level the two-match series at 1-1. The home side have now lost three Test matches in a row after their 2-0 loss to India, a remarkable turn around from their historic 2-0 whitewash of Pakistan earlier this year.
South Africa, on the other hand, have bounced back into contention to reach the World Test Championships (WTC) 2023-25 final next year with a win in the first Test. A series whitewash against Bangladesh will massively boost SA’s chances of reaching the final coupled with India’s shock Test series loss to New Zealand.
The visitors will continue to miss the services of regular skipper Temba Bavuma due to elbow injury. In Bavuma’s absence, Aiden Markram will continue to lead the side. “We just feel medically he’s not going to be ready for the second Test,” South Africa’s Test coach Shukri Conrad was quoted as saying. “We will tone down the [rehabilitation] programme so that he can be ready for the Sri Lankan series.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has expressed his desire to step down from his role as a skipper. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam, who insisted that he is not aware whether Najmul wanted to quit from his captaincy post, added his name in the list. “I haven’t heard anything on this matter (regarding Najmul quitting from captaincy) It’s not part of our role, I’m not fully informed on this,” Taijul told reporters at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Monday.
“Having played for 10 years, I’m fully prepared (for captaincy),” he added.
