Thunder Dominate Fourth Quarter to Beat Hawks

The Oklahoma City Thunder used a 29-8 run early in the fourth quarter to take charge and beat the Atlanta Hawks 128-104 on Sunday night in the home opener for the Thunder.

In a game with 11 lead changes, the Thunder took the lead for good on a jumper by Alex Caruso early in the fourth quarter.

It helped spark the decisive run for OKC, who outscored Atlanta 39-18 in the fourth quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder with 35 points and added 11 rebounds and 9 assists.

Chet Holmgren had another good game, with 25 points and 9 rebounds, while Jalen Williams added 20 points and 9 rebounds as well.

Luguentz Dort was the only other Thunder player in double figures with 16 points.

The Thunder shot 49 percent from the field, and hit 16 three-pointers.

OKC forced 19 turnovers, one night after forcing 26 against Chicago.

Atlanta shot 40 percent from the field, and were led by former Sooner Trae Young, who had 24 points and 8 assists.

The Thunder improved to 3-0 on the season and will host San Antonio on Wednesday night at 8:30 pm.
