Bharti Airtel has announced that Shashwat Sharma, the current COO, will become the MD & CEO starting January 1, 2026, as part of the company's planned succession. Gopal Vittal, the current MD & CEO, will be elevated to Vice Chairman and join the Board of Airtel Africa Plc, focusing on group synergies and strategic leadership.
