Seven teams to compete in East Asia Baseball Cup from October 29
Seven teams will compete from Tuesday, October 29, to Sunday, November 3 in the V East Asia Baseball Cup in New Clark City, Philippines.
The hosts and defending champions, World No. 27 Philippines, will compete in Group B and face No. 60 Singapore and Indonesia.
Group A includes No. 32 Hong Kong-China, No. 42 Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Malaysia will open the tournament at 9 am (local time) on October 29. After the Opening Ceremony, Thailand will face Cambodia and the Philippines will play Indonesia.
The Opening Round will finish on October 31, with the top two teams of each group advancing to the Super Round. The top two finishers in the Super Round will compete for the title on Sunday, November 3, at 1.30 pm (local time).
The Championship Final will be precede by the bronze medal fame at 9 am.
The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) organized the Asia Baseball Cup, a second-level tournament to the Asian Baseball Championship, from 1995 to 2010. The tournament split into the East Asia Baseball Cup and the West Asia Baseball Cup in 2012. The Philippines have won all four editions of the East Asia Baseball Cup.
New Clark City spans an area of 9,450 hectares (23,400 acres) and is located within the former U.S. military base of Camp O'Donnell on Luzon Island.
