Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported Sunday that the Dodgers are expected to be a factor in the bidding for Juan Soto this offseason. The Yankees and Mets have been perceived as the favorites for the 26-year-old all season. The Dodgers can afford to make Soto a large offer thanks to the large amount of deferred money from Shohei Ohtani‘s contract.

The World Series resumes today, with Walker Buehler (1-6, 5.38 ERA) taking the hill for the Dodgers against Clarke Schmidt (5-5, 2.85 ERA). Buehler bounced back from a rough first start of the postseason by tossing four shutout innings with six strikeouts against the Mets in the third game of the NLCS. Dodgers skipper Dave Roberts told Karl Ravech of ESPN that Shohei Ohtani will be in tonight’s lineup after suffering a left shoulder subluxation while attempting to steal a base on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 8:08 p.m.
The White Sox are getting close to hiring a manager, Jesse Rogers of ESPN reports. Dodgers first base coach Clayton McCullough has been eliminated from the running, while Padres special assistant A.J. Ellis has withdrawn himself from the race.
