Truck attack at Central Israel Bus Station leaves 35 injured
The Israeli emergency service reported that at least 35 people were injured after a truck collided with a passenger bus near a military base in central Israel.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the incident, describing it as a “natural response” to Israeli actions in “Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.”
The Israeli emergency service stated that all the injured were transported to the hospital, with six individuals in critical condition.
According to the Israeli police, preliminary investigations indicated that a bus had stopped near a bus station to drop off passengers when a truck approached and collided with both the bus and the passengers at the station.
The police added that civilians at the scene “shot the truck driver and neutralized him.” The driver did not survive the incident.
Health authorities confirmed to NBC News that a 72-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to the Tel Aviv Medical Center.
This incident highlights the growing tensions and escalating violence in the region. Hamas’ claim of responsibility and framing it as a response to Israeli actions underscores the ongoing cycle of retaliation and increasing hostilities between the two sides.
The continuous escalation of tensions in the Middle East is resulting in severe consequences for civilians on both sides. Such incidents deepen the rift and create a cycle of violence that endangers the lives of innocent people, emphasizing the urgent need for diplomatic interventions and peace efforts to address the ongoing conflict.
