Israeli strikes kill 21 in Lebanon and 47 in Gaza
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that at least 21 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on three locations in southern Lebanon. At the same time, Al Jazeera, citing its sources, reported that the death toll from Sunday’s Israeli strikes in Gaza has risen to 47.
According to reports, Israel conducted airstrikes on Sunday, October 27, targeting at least three sites in southern Lebanon. The bombings resulted in at least 21 deaths.
Israel confirmed the attacks in southern Lebanon, claiming that they targeted “command centers, a large quantity of weapons, and underground infrastructure” belonging to Hezbollah.
As civilian casualties continue to rise in Lebanon, Gaza is also witnessing a new wave of Israeli attacks, which have intensified since October 7th of last year. The ongoing bombardments have caused widespread destruction and loss of life.
In the latest series of Israeli strikes across Gaza, which began on Sunday, at least 47 people have lost their lives. The increasing number of civilian casualties has led Egypt to propose a two-day ceasefire, but neither Israel nor Hamas has responded to this proposal so far.
Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, expressed his shock on social media platform X, stating he is “appalled by the horrific scale of death, injury, and destruction” in northern Gaza, which has been under Israeli siege for over three weeks.
The escalating conflict and rising civilian toll highlight the urgent need for humanitarian relief and a resolution to the ongoing crisis.
