‘Landman’ trailer: Billy Bob Thornton fuels Taylor Sheridan’s oil industry drama
Billy Bob Thornton is putting out fires in more ways than one in the new trailer for the Paramount+ series “Landman.”
Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the drama is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and stars Thornton as Tommy Norris, a fixer at an oil company. Jon Hamm plays Monty Miller, a Texas oil industry titan who goes way back with Tommy, while Demi Moore plays Cami, Monty’s wife.
“Men die,” Tommy says in the trailer. “Oil companies don’t.”
Based on the podcast “Boomtown,” the series, per the logline, is an “upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.” The cast also includes Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, Jacob Lofland, James Jordan, Mark Collie, and Paulina Chávez. In addition, Andy Garcia and Michael Peña will guest-star.
“Landman” premieres with two episodes on Sunday, Nov. 17 on Paramount+, with subsequent episodes of the 10-episode season dropping weekly.
