Following some light rain, the game kicked-off just after 12.30 and the first action of note came when Callum Loades charged out to the edge of the box, where he chested the ball down before belting it upfield.
Then, Tom Chaplin forced a flying save from the R’s keeper.
The visitors were certainly having the best of it and a free kick from the corner of the penalty area was headed over the crossbar.
Harry Hogg gave the Robins the lead after 20 minutes. The No.10 broke away and went on to slot the ball, low, into the back of the net.
At the other end, a great ball found Jake Coomes, and his cross to the onrushing Enis Neziri was smacked over the bar.
Bristol City doubled their lead after 29 minutes with Harry Hogg’s side-footed shot from close range.
Number three followed a few minutes later courtesy of Luke Skinner.
Mr Crowhurst lost patience with Luke Skinner and booked him. The No.9 had continually stood around the ball as Fraser Neill attempted to take a free kick.
I think it was Jaiden Foxwell who added a fourth goal before the break. Half-time: 0-4.
The first change saw the introduction of Jonas Cody at the expense of Mason Skeete.
Minutes into the second-half it became 0-5, following a flurry of goal attempts around the box.
And soon after the goal, Hassan Hamid replaced trialist (b).
Enis Neziri shot down the left-flank, before moving in and firing the ball into the keeper’s gloves.
Luke Skinner weaved his way into the box and his strike was well-saved by Callum Loades.
The Robins increased their lead after 63 minutes following a break-away in numbers. Tom Chaplin then drove the ball into the corner.
Phillip Sanyaolu came on for trialist (a).
As the R’s looked to reduce the deficit, a long pass found Lorenzo Strachan, who then belted the ball into the side-netting from a widish position.
The final goal arrived in the closing stages.
Reuben Shepherd was shown a yellow card after fouling Hassan Hamid.
As it started raining again, Luka Radojevic’s shot was grabbed by the keeper.
The following week, Rangers took on Watford at London Colney.
