Widespread traffic signal outages affecting MAX trains, buses in downtown Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A widespread traffic signal outage is slowing all forms of traffic in downtown Portland Monday morning, including cars, TriMet buses and MAX trains.
TriMet spokesperson Tyler Graf said that all intersections with dark signals should be treated as four-way stops.
“MAX blue and red line trains are experiencing some delays and MAX green, orange and yellow lines are disrupted,” Graf said. “Shuttle buses are moving riders around the disruption.”
Arrival times for all MAX lines may be inaccurate due to the ongoing outage. TriMet riders can expect longer commutes Monday. Blue and red line rides should expect to add 15 minutes to their commute this morning. TriMet buses are specifically impacted along 5th and 6th Avenues, where traffic signals are currently operating as stop signs.
